PEDIATRIC SURGERY
At any age, Children can develop health problems and get injured. They can also be born with a malformation. So many situations that create stress for children and their parents, especially if an operation is necessary. We, specialists in pediatric surgery, are here to support you, in the desire to reassure and create a bond of trust throughout the follow-up.
Depending on the case or the child's stage of development, surgery is not always essential or can be postponed. In these situations, we, pediatric surgeons, also monitor the child. In the case of urinary tract malformation, for example, even without surgery, regular monitoring is still necessary.
The Pediatric Surgery Service provides care from newborns to teenagers, that is, from 0 to 18 years old. It brings together skills and knowledge that allow the management of visceral and urological surgery, oncological surgery, urogenital malformations, endoscopic urology, neurological bladder, neonatal surgery, thoracic surgery for children and adolescents.
About
VILSON JACQUES M.D.
Of Haitian nationality, married to a wonderful woman, father of four beautiful children, doctor in medicine, with specialties in general surgery (RQE 19150), and pediatric surgery (RQE 23724), with postgraduate degrees in community medicine and traffic medicine. My passion has always been to discover the world, different cultures, and speak several languages (French, English, Spanish, Portuguese and others). Supporting the idea of discovering a new horizon, my dear parents (deceased) decided to send me to study medicine in the Dominican Republic where I met my wife. In 2001 I began my medical career at Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre e Maestra (PUCMM) and received my doctorate in medicine in 2008. I worked for two years in the Dominican Republic until 2010 with the devastating earthquake in my country Haiti that killed over 500 thousand people , where I went to offer my service as a volunteer to my people.
In 2012 admitted as an active and regular member of the Illustrious Medical College of Madrid to this day. After two years of knowledge in Spain, in 2014 I arrived in Brazil where I gained new experiences and decided to put an end to the medical clinic area to open another page in my career. I completed my medical residency for General surgery in 2018 at the Rio Verde municipal university hospital at UniRV, Goias. IN 2020 I received the title of specialist in general surgery. In the same year, I was approved for a sub-specialty in Pediatric Surgery at Santo Antônio hospital, Blumenau, Santa Catarina, until March 2023 when I became a pediatric surgeon.
A professional career full of cultures, good experiences, splendid experiences, knowledge, skills and, above all, human warmth for participating in improving the quality of life of thousands of patients. As a pediatric surgeon, I am committed to providing high-quality care to children and adolescents, contributing to the advancement of medicine in Brazil. Always value professional ethics and ensure the dignity of my patients. Currently, I am Head of Pediatric Surgery Service at Hospital Regional Alto Vale in Rio do Sul (HRAV) and also Member of Pediatric Surgery at Hospitals Santo Antônio (HSA), Hospital Santa Catarina (HSC) in Blumenau, and medical residency preceptor at pediatric surgery in Blumenau.
